There are many people who attend worship and are involved in the community that are not formal members. These people are our friends—and it’s great to have friends. But congregations also need members—people who feel ready to make a special commitment to this congregation. We recommend the following steps when considering membership:
- Participate in our community long enough to be sure that this is really a commitment that you wish to make.
- Make sure that you understand the basics of Unitarian Universalism and how UUMAN works by attending a UU-101 class.
- Make an annual financial pledge as well as commit time and talents to become a part of our UU community.
You must be at least 16 years old, make a financial pledge, and sign the membership book.
45 days after that, you can vote at congregational meetings, become a committee chair, or hold elected office.
